"Oh, Mother of God."
— Friar Godofredo
La Leyenda de la Nahuala

God is the deity worshiped by Christians and is presumably the ruler of Heaven and creator of Hell.

HistoryEdit

God was first mentioned by Friar Godofredo in La Leyenda de la Llorona when he was chasing Santos Machorro across the Manor. Although not directly mentioned, one of his (presumed) creations, Heaven was a major plot point throughout La Leyenda de la Llorona as Leo briefly died and visited the realm to meet his mother, Mrs. San Juan though was quickly revived. Afterwards, when Yoltzin found peace, she was reunited with her two children, Tonatiuh and Ollin in Heaven.

God's presence would later be felt in Jersey Devil, where Baba Yaga in the disguise of Jacob would use the status of God and his potential wrath as means to manipulate the Citizens of Leeds to shun Thomas Decatur and eventually burn Leo San Juan, Teodora Villavicencio, Alebrije and Don Andrés at a stake.

Status and reverenceEdit

The status of God in the vast pantheon of deities is unknown. While it's possible he's a creator god like Quetzalcoatl, this is unknown. Like Zeus, Hermes and Athena, God has not yet been shown, but has a strong presence throughout the series. Many mortals speak highly of God, though also greatly fear him.
